Greater Napony Council Special Session
The meeting primarily focused on the proposed construction of a trail at the Riverside Cemetery. The council heard deputations from community members both in opposition to and in support of the project. Opposing arguments raised concerns regarding the potential impact on cemetery dignity, human rights, and compliance with provincial burial regulations, while supporting arguments highlighted the potential for the trail to serve as a community asset, citing precedents of similar trails in other cemeteries and the public's right to access. Council members affirmed that the matter has been discussed in public forums and not in closed sessions.
