The meeting addressed the suspension of dividend payments by the Rio St. Lawrence utility, which was attributed to a significant increase in capital expenditures required for grid expansion and infrastructure development in the service territory. Additionally, the council approved the community grants program for the current intake.
The meeting focused on the comprehensive zoning bylaw review, covering the project's history and the incorporation of public feedback. Key discussions included specific zoning designations for individual properties, such as 46 Bedford and 92 Concession Street, addressing concerns regarding land use and development requirements. Additionally, the committee established regulations for shipping containers, distinguishing between storage containers and modified shipping containers, while outlining the permitting process for both existing non-conforming uses and future installations in the village core.
