The Clark County Community Health Improvement Plan for 2026-2028 outlines a strategic roadmap to enhance the overall health and well-being of the community. Developed through extensive collaboration and research, the plan identifies three key priority areas: Child Health and Wellness (focusing on child care, youth mental health, and access to safe and healthy foods), Chronic Disease (addressing oral health, cancer, and heart disease), and Substance Abuse (tackling opioid misuse and promoting policy and environmental strategies). It aims to implement measurable steps, strengthen community health systems, and ensure fair, inclusive efforts for all residents, particularly rural and underserved populations, to build a healthier and more resilient Clark County.
The 2024-2026 Strategic Plan for the Clark County Health Department focuses on strengthening internal operations and establishing a clear roadmap for supporting healthy communities. The plan outlines four goal areas: public health advocacy, community engagement, department operations, and employee optimization. It emphasizes enhancing partner support, ensuring a well-versed oversight committee, increasing community awareness for services, strengthening professional partnerships, promoting cultural engagement, balancing community needs with staff capacity, pursuing financial sustainability, and supporting employee well-being and professional growth.
The 2023-2025 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) focuses on addressing key health concerns identified through the Community Health Assessment (CHA). The plan prioritizes physical environment and safety by promoting environmental health hazard awareness and safety practices. It aims to reduce communicable diseases by increasing childhood vaccination rates and improving community access to resources. The plan also targets alcohol misuse and drug use by implementing youth and adult-focused initiatives, preventing unauthorized access to prescription medications, and providing opioid overdose prevention measures.
